Three Guilty Pleasure Foods You Should Totally Eat For Breakfast

I work on breakfast radio and the big thing that involves is getting up at the crack of sparrows. This often means breakfast is a strange hybrid of not quite breakfast not quite brunch. I want to share a secret with you: keeping strange hours has opened me up to a whole world of breakfast possibilities.

Here’s a list of my top three:

1.A Strawberry Doughnut:

I’m salivating on my keyboard just thinking about them. Strawberry Doughnuts are God’s gift to the world. Extra taste points are awarded for sprinkles. Nothing will make your stomach happy like a Strawberry Doughnut. You’ve tried the best now try the best. There’s no such thing as the wrong time for eating one; the right time is whenever you have one in your hand.

2.Dumplings

I discovered dumplings for breakfast in Shanghai when I was travelling in 2012 and I haven’t looked back since. My dumpling of choice is Xiao Long Bao, which translates to Chinese Soup Dumplings. Inside each dumpling is the perfect amount of broth, made from chicken, pork and cured ham. These are also fun to share with friends…the first time you take a bite the soup can squirt across the table and get your pal!

3. The Humble Sausage Roll

If I could only eat one food for the rest of my life, it would be a Sausage Roll. I’ve inexplicably loved the taste of them since I was a kid; one of my best early memories is the satisfying feeling of eating a Sausage Roll after swimming lessons. I was vegetarian for two years and my gateway food back to meat eating was the Humble Sausage Roll. With or without sauce, the choice is yours.
