The World of Remote Indigenous Broadcasting

Full Interview

I sat down with Bernard Namok Jnr for a conversation about indigenous broadcasting in remote regions and gleamed some insight into what its like as a broadcaster and how they connect to the communities.

We spoke about the role of community radio, what it’s like to entertain those communities and how he constructs authentic radio.

He is a busy man having worked on his own documentary feature Carry the Flag – celebrating the 25th Anniversary of the creation of the Torres Strait Flag, which was designed by his father, Bernard Snr.

On the horizon is a radio documentary called Let it Fly which will air across the community broadcasting network in mid October.
