The Olympic World Says Bonjour to Marianne

The logo for the 2024 Paris Olympics has dropped, and it has the online community wondering if its just a tad too sexy.

The world was introduced to “Marianne” earlier this week and is set to become the most memorable logo the games has had in a long while.

The simplistic design is a major change-up from the colourful Eiffel tower design that was prominent during the city’s original hosting bid.

Organisers decided to combine games icons like the Olympic flame and a gold medal, with the hair and lips of Marianne – the icon that has personified the French Republic since the 1789 Revolution.

But some journalists are loving the new, sultry direction the Paris games have taken, and have started fleshing out Marianne’s back story.
