Pick you up at 6 hosts, Lu explored all the options for your last-minute plans for tomorrow’s Melbourne Cup.
Since 1861 Horses and Jockeys have had their chance for glory down the 3200-meter track at Flemington Racecourse. The event has never been canceled, even continuing throughout the pandemic and WWII. The event has only ever been postponed, twice due to bad weather in 1870 and 1916.
Roughly 90 thousand punters attend events in person across Australia and with streaming and television services it’s believed that approximately 5 million people watch the race each year. It’s truly the ‘Race that Stops the Nation’.
