Is the Music Festival Scene Quitting NSW altogether?

How the hell are we supposed to have a ripper festival weekend with mates if we have to travel over 400kms to do it?

Splendour in the Grass, Falls Festival and Laneway are amongst the festivals reconsidering their future in NSW as the State Government pushes to implement safety regimes without festival organiser consultation.

The Australian Festival Association, which represents the country’s festivals, has said that they aim to find solutions to issues such as this but “where (their) interests conflict with those of regulatory bodies, (they) strive to find rational, evidence based solutions”. They say these safety measures have had a “punitive” effect on the industry.

The industry is calling for the Premiere Gladys Berejiklian to have a roundtable discussion with the music industry but it looks like this isn’t currently planned.
