The Brownlow Medal for the AFL’s best and fairest was announced last night, awarded to Brisband Lions player Lachie Neale.
Neale was a clear frontrunner the whole night, and ended up taking the win by a major 10 point lead. He pulled 31 points from 17 games. In second place was Port Adelaide’s Travis Boake on 21, and in equal third place was Christian Petracca from Melbourne and St Kilda’s Jack Steele both with 20 points each.
The Brownlow played out a little differently this year, with each team in a remote location with their partners, as opposed to the big group ceremony in Melbourne. Nat Fyfe, who won last year, presented the award to Neale from afar.
Haylee and Rob spoke about the award on Breakfast this morning.
