Australia Hits 70% Full Vaccination Rate

Australia has reached a full vaccination rate of 70% today, as Australia pushes for a summer of freedom.

On the same day quarantine travel restrictions from those travelling from New South Wales to Victoria were lifted, Australia Minister for Health Greg Hunt confirmed the 70% full vaccination milestone for those aged 16 or older had been reached. The 70% amount had previously been indicated by health officials as what was needed to commence ‘phase B’ of the nation coming out of lockdown, and also sees Australia overtake the United States in vaccination rates.

Whilst quarantine is no longer mandatory for those travelling from New South Wales to Victoria, it’s worth noting that those looking to travel from Victoria to New South Wales must still complete two weeks quarantine, a rule which has all but ruled out holiday trips between the two states for now.
